Biography

Krishna Nayak is a Dean's Professor in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and has joint appointments in the Alfred E. Mann Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Keck School of Medicine's Radiology department at the University of Southern California. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2001 and both his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and Florida State University respectively, in 1996 and 1995. His research focuses on developing clinically translatable novel magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies, contributing to MRI pulse sequence designs, data sampling, image reconstruction techniques, and artifact mitigation. His diverse portfolio includes tools for cardiac stress testing, obstructive sleep apnea assessment, and brain tumor evaluation. He has collaborated extensively with professionals in cardiology, radiology, and other fields to translate and validate MRI technology.
