Biography

Krisilyn 'Tony' Frazier received a Master’s in Fine Performing Communication Arts from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Tony continues to choreograph and teach a variety of dance styles that incorporate new media technology and artistic practices, with primary areas of interest including Documentary Film, Production, and Camera Aesthetics in Dance, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Afro-Beats. As a choreographer and performer, Tony has been featured in special performances like the Target Fireworks Celebration in Detroit, Michigan, where he opened for pop/soul artists such as Brandy and Kanye West. He has a notable presence in the Hip-Hop scene and has worked as a Rehearsal Director for 'Heaven' at the University of Michigan. Passionate about spreading love for Hip-Hop history, Tony lectures at the University of Michigan and acts as a guest lecturer at various universities including Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Haus Dance, a company dedicated to pre-professional and professional dancers based in Jackson, Michigan. In 2018, he released the dance documentary 'Call Action: Holocaust,' which has been featured in multiple film festivals and has received awards for unique filmmaking. Tony is also involved in social justice issues, creating cross-disciplinary works focused on addressing racism and discrimination through his artistic lens.
