Biography

Krista Lynne Smith is an observational astrophysicist specializing in time domain observations of black hole accretion disks and jets, as well as the search for binary active galactic nuclei (AGN) and the effects of AGN host galaxies. Professor Smith employs a variety of ground and space-based instruments in her research, including NICER, Swift, TESS, VLT-MUSE, Fermi, and VLA. She actively collaborates with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to advance the understanding of these dynamic astronomical phenomena.
