Biography

Kristen Grauman is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin, where she leads the UT Computer Vision Group. Her research focuses on computer vision and machine learning, with particular interests in artificial intelligence, machine perception, graphics, visualization, and visual recognition. She has been recognized as a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. Grauman is also an Associate Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence. She has published extensively, earning several awards for her work, including the Computers and Thought Award and multiple paper awards, further establishing her as a leader in her field. Grauman completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006, after earning her B.A. in Computer Science summa cum laude from Boston College in 2001.
