Dr. Kristin Nord

Biography

Kristin M. Nord, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University. She served as the Residency Program Director from 2012 to 2022. Dr. Nord completed her medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and her residency in Dermatology at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. Currently, she is an Attending Physician at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System with clinical interests encompassing general dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and procedural dermatology. Dr. Nord plays a significant role as the Assistant Co-Chief of Dermatologic Surgery and is actively involved in research focused on skin cancer education and prevention, co-leading the SUNSPORT initiative, which emphasizes sun protection outreach and teamwork. Throughout her career, she has held various academic and clinical roles, including Chief of Dermatology Service at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Associate Residency Program Director in the Stanford Department of Dermatology. She has been a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Women’s Dermatologic Society, contributing to committees and advocacy efforts within the field.
