Biography

Kristina Saunders is a lecturer in sociology with a focus on Sociological and Cultural Studies at the University of Glasgow. She earned her doctorate from the University of Glasgow in 2019, where her thesis qualitatively explored the contradictions surrounding reproductive choices in the context of neoliberalism and postfeminism. Before her doctorate, she completed her Master of Research in Sociology Research Methods with Distinction in 2014, and in 2013, she graduated with a First Class MA (Hons) in Sociology, also from the University of Glasgow. During her time at the university, she worked as a graduate teaching assistant and lecturer, while also holding research positions in the field of sexual and reproductive health. Her research interests encompass Gender, Reproduction, Class, Relationships, Feminist Theory, Social Theory, and Qualitative Methods, contributing to various research groups and projects. She has been involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Sociology, Gender Relations, and Quantitative Methods, as well as leading initiatives in Widening Participation and Summer Schools for Sociology.
