Biography

Kristy Dalrymple Gaudiano, Ph.D., is a Professor and Clinician Educator in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Drexel University in Philadelphia and followed it with a postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University. Her academic interests encompass the development and testing of psychosocial interventions for depression and anxiety, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-based therapies. Her research includes examining the associations between acceptance and mindfulness-based processes and psychiatric symptoms, with a specific focus on emotional eating among bariatric surgery candidates. Dr. Dalrymple has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and actively contributes to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science. She is also involved in various grant review committees, currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Grants Committee for the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. Her funded projects include studies aimed at reducing suicide risk in partial hospital patients and improving outcomes for bariatric surgery patients through innovative psychosocial interventions.
