Biography

Kristy Herrman is a board-certified pediatrician neonatologist specializing in providing care to neonates and infants with a wide variety of illness severities, including prematurity and congenital anomalies. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she completed her internship and residency with the Austin Medical Education Program. Following this, she pursued her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, returning to Austin to begin her career in 2007 at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Her passion for teaching is evident as she serves as the director of medical education for students and residents during the neonatal intensive care rotation and co-chairs the Education Committee within the Division of Neonatology. Additionally, she is a member of the Pediatric Education Committee, and her research interests mainly focus on quality improvement, particularly related to patent ductus arteriosus in premature infants.
