Biography

Krisztina Büti is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Rady School of Management, University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on various aspects of empirical corporate finance and behavioral finance, especially the information processing dynamics within financial markets. Her current research examines critical themes such as the influence of market frictions on pricing efficiency, corporate acquisition events, and how acquirers adapt to investment opportunity sets amid market learning. In recognition of her exceptional dissertation, she received the John F. Doukas Award at the 2016 Annual Meetings of the European Financial Management Association. Büti earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2016 and prior to her doctoral studies served as a senior lecturer and industry researcher at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She also holds a CFA designation, an MBA degree, and an MA in Economics. Her work in progress includes studies on market learning and firm size in the context of corporate acquisitions.
