Biography

Krzysztof Fidkowski is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan. He earned his S.B. in Physics and S.B., S.M., and Ph.D. degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He joined the University of Michigan in 2008 as an Assistant Professor after serving as a post-doctoral associate at MIT's Aerospace Computational Design Laboratory. His primary research focuses on algorithmic development in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with emphasis on adjoint methods for numerical error estimation, mesh adaptation, and uncertainty quantification. He has held leadership roles such as chair of the CFD Subcommittee of the AIAA Fluid Dynamics Technical Committee and is an AIAA Associate Fellow. Throughout his career, he has organized fluid and CFD tracks for multiple AIAA conferences.
