Biography

Ksana Blank earned her BA in French Philology from St. Petersburg State University and her PhD in Russian Literature from Columbia University. She has published several books and articles focused on Russian literature, with a particular emphasis on Dostoevsky. Her notable works include 'Dostoevsky’s Dialectics Problem Sin' and 'Spaces of Creativity: Essays on Russian Literature and the Arts'. Her academic interests center around the stylistic aspects of literary works and the interdisciplinary connections between literature, music, visual arts, folklore, and religious philosophy. Since joining Princeton University in 2000, she has been teaching upper-level language and literature courses and has previously taught at Hunter College and Middlebury College's Russian Summer School. Currently, she is working on a project involving Leo Tolstoy’s 'The Prisoner of the Caucasus'.
