Biography

Kuang Xu is an Associate Professor of Operations and Information Technology at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds a courtesy appointment in the Electrical Engineering Department. He completed his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014. He has been recognized with several awards during his academic career, including the Rising Star Research Award from ACM SIGMETRICS in 2020 and the Paper Award at the SIGMETRICS Conference in 2013. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for both Management Science and Operations Research. His research interests include optimization, data-driven decision making, and operations management, particularly in relation to information technology. He teaches various courses at the business school, ensuring students gain a robust understanding of these critical areas.
