Biography

Kumar C. Shah is a Professor in Clinical Dentistry at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He is a board-certified prosthodontist with a specialization in maxillofacial prosthodontics. Dr. Shah received his dental degree from the National University of Singapore and earned a Master of Science degree and a certificate in Prosthodontics from Ohio State University. He completed a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at UCLA. Dr. Shah has served as the director of the postgraduate Prosthodontics residency program at UCLA and has also directed the Advanced Prosthodontics Implantology Preceptorship Programs. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He has held positions on the board of directors of several nonprofit dental organizations and has contributed to dental literature, including co-editing a textbook on dental implant therapy. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry, leadership in dental education, innovative digital dentistry systems, and methods for retaining implant restorations. Dr. Shah teaches various courses in implant dentistry and clinical prosthodontics and practices restorative and esthetic dentistry with a focus on implant prosthodontics.
