Dr. Kurosh Parsi

Biography

Professor Kurosh Parsi is a distinguished dermatologist and phlebologist specializing in vascular anomalies. He is the Head of the Department of Dermatology at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and serves as the Program Head for Dermatology at the Fluid Mechanics Research Laboratory, St. Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research. Professor Parsi graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1993. He later earned a Master of Science in Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2001, followed by a PhD in 2011. In addition to his medical degrees, he completed a Master of International Law from the University of Salford in 2021. His research focuses on the basic science of phlebology, particularly the interactions of sclerosing agents and their mechanisms of action. He has published extensively in his field and has served in several leadership roles within professional organizations, including as the President of the Australasian College of Phlebology from 2007 to 2017. Professor Parsi has been involved in numerous clinical studies and projects related to venous disorders and has contributed significantly to the academic community through teaching and supervision of postgraduate students.
