Biography

Dr. Kurt Hafer is a board-certified physician and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, practicing in Primary Care Internal Medicine exclusively within Stanford Concierge Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at Pomona College and underwent post-baccalaureate pre-medical coursework at the University of Michigan, where he also worked as a neuro-endocrine peptide researcher. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in 2002. Dr. Hafer has served as a teaching attending physician at Santa Clara and as an adjunct faculty member at Stanford, training medical students and residents. He was instrumental in founding the Stanford Primary Care clinic in Portola Valley from 2012, where he incorporated advanced technologies and models for population health management. Currently, he serves as Medical Director for Stanford Concierge Medicine and is involved in various professional projects and committees aimed at improving healthcare delivery. He places high value on patient-physician communication and preventive care, which he believes is vital for providing exceptional patient care.
