Biography

Kyeong Park is a Professor in the Department of Marine Coastal Environmental Science at Texas A&M University Galveston. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary, obtained in 1993, and a Master of Science in Marine Environmental Sciences from Stony Brook University, earned in 1987. Additionally, he has a Bachelor of Science in Mineral and Petroleum Engineering from Seoul National University, completed in 1985. His current research interests include estuarine coastal hydrodynamics and water quality conditions, focusing on the interactions between physical and biological processes in marine ecosystems. Over the years, Park has made significant contributions to the field through various publications that explore topics such as spatial and temporal variabilities of hypoxia, mass transport mechanisms in estuarine systems, and the modeling of estuarine turbidity. He teaches courses related to Physical Oceanography, Estuarine Coastal Hydrodynamics, and Estuarine Coastal Water Quality Modeling. As a leading researcher, he actively participates in projects that address both academic and practical issues affecting coastal and marine environments.
