Biography

Kyle J. M. Bishop serves as a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Columbia University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with the highest distinction from the University of Virginia and completed his PhD at Northwestern University. Prior to joining the faculty at Columbia in 2016, he was a post-doctoral fellow under George Whitesides at Harvard University and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on discovering, understanding, and applying new strategies for organizing and directing the assembly of colloids and soft materials in thermodynamic equilibrium.
