Dr. Kyle Rehder

Biography

Kyle Jason Rehder is the Glenn Kiser Eltha Muriel Kiser Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University, where he serves as the Interim Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Vice-Chair of the Office of Pediatric Education. His expertise lies in pediatric critical care medicine, particularly in mechanical ventilation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), patient safety, quality, communication, and education. Rehder has completed his pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Duke University and has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Pediatrics. He has contributed to significant research on critical conditions affecting children, including studies on COVID-19 in critically ill children and projects aimed at reducing burnout among health therapists. Rehder has been involved in several notable grants, collaborations, and initiatives to enhance pediatric care, placing a strong emphasis on improving health outcomes and educational experiences in the medical field.
