Biography

Kyra Gan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University and Cornell Tech. Her research interests focus on adaptive and online algorithm design, personalized treatment methodologies, including micro-randomized and N-of-1 trials, and constraint settings. She explores computerized and automated inference methods, such as targeted learning and RKHS, as well as robust causal discovery within medical data contexts. Additionally, she examines fairness in organ transplants and aims to bridge the gap between research and practical applications in healthcare. Prior to her current position at Cornell Tech, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Statistical Reinforcement Lab at Harvard University. Kyra earned her Ph.D. in Operations Research from Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business in 2022, and holds dual B.A.s in Mathematics and Economics from Smith College, awarded in 2017. She has received several accolades for her contributions to the field, including the 2021 Pierskalla Paper Award and the 2021 CHOW Student Paper Award in the category of Operations Research and Management Science.
