Dr. Kyu Park

Biography

Kyu Park is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School. He joined the Dell Medical team after completing his postdoctoral research at Cornell University. His primary research focus is on lipid chemistry, with a specific interest in the regulation of metabolic pathways involving omega-3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, particularly in the context of human cancer cells. Dr. Park’s research interests also extend to evaluating the effects of hormones on these metabolic pathways. He received his Ph.D. in 2011 from the Department of Food and Biotechnology at Korea University, South Korea, where his research included the synthesis of conjugated fatty acids using probiotics and rumen bacteria. His expertise contributes to the school’s mission of rethinking the role of academic medicine in improving health through community-focused initiatives.
