Biography

Lai-Sang Young is a renowned Professor in the Department of Mathematics at New York University. She specializes in Dynamical Systems, a branch of modern mathematics that focuses on time evolutions and natural iterative processes. Her research predominantly revolves around chaotic systems, where she investigates topics such as Lyapunov exponents, entropy, fractal dimension, strange attractors, and random perturbations. Over the years, she has worked on concrete models, including particle systems and kicked oscillators.
