Professor Dr. Laila Schenkel

Biography

Laila Schenkel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University. She specializes in clinical molecular diagnostics, molecular genetics, and epigenetics. Laila currently serves as a molecular laboratory scientist at the London Health Sciences Centre, with a focus on interpreting and reporting constitutional oncology molecular genetic testing, as well as test development and validation. Her research activities are centered on the development and implementation of novel technologies in clinical molecular diagnostics, including the identification of novel disease biomarkers through epigenomic profiling. Laila is committed to advancing the field of molecular diagnostics and is engaged in various clinical activities that leverage her expertise.
