Dr. Lakshmi Katakam

Biography

Lakshmi Katakam is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University, where she serves as the Interim Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neonatology. With extensive training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, she completed her fellowship at Duke University from 2006 to 2009. Prior to this, she trained in Pediatric Residency at the University of Florida from 2003 to 2006. Katakam earned her M.P.H. from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and received her M.D. from the University of Florida in 2003. Her clinical and research interests focus on improving outcomes in neonatal health, and she has been involved in various grants, including the Eunice Kennedy Shriver NICHD Cooperative Multicenter Neonatal Research Network awarded by the National Institutes of Health. Throughout her career, she has held positions such as Instructor and Clinical Associate in the Department of Pediatrics, contributing to the advancement of neonatal care and research.
