Dr. Lakshmi Kotra

Biography

Lakshmi Kotra leads a multidisciplinary research group investigating the intersection of medicinal chemistry, drug action, drug design, and preformulations in both preclinical and clinical studies. She has established research programs focused on neurological and inflammatory disorders as well as infectious diseases. Over the past 20 years, Kotra's lab has maintained high standards in conducting cutting-edge research, including acquiring regulatory clearances for research involving controlled substances and medical cannabis. Her current programs include preclinical and clinical research on the effects of cannabinoids on various cellular and organ systems, the development of antivirals for organ transplants, and therapies targeting multiple sclerosis.
