Dr. Lakshminarayanan Subramanian

Biography

Lakshminarayanan Subramanian is a Professor of Computer Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and holds joint faculty positions in the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, as well as being an affiliate in the Department of Technology, Operations and Statistics at NYU Stern School of Business. His research interests encompass networked systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, health, sustainability, and socio-economic development. He leads the Open Networks and Big Data Lab and is associated with various research groups including the Center for Technology and Economic Development and NYU Wireless. Subramanian has founded several startups, including Entrupy Inc., which focuses on machine vision algorithms for authentication of physical goods, Gaius Networks, which powers an AI-driven marketplace, and another enterprise aimed at creating shock resilient AI. His academic work includes numerous publications in areas such as AI health recommendations, urban air quality prediction, and causal inference, contributing significantly to the fields of machine learning and networked systems.
