Biography

Laleh Samarbakhsh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research interests include Corporate Finance, Empirical Asset Pricing, Hedge Funds, Cryptocurrencies, Derivatives, and Financial Crises. Samarbakhsh has published research in financial education pedagogy and has presented her work at multiple international academic conferences including the Financial Management Association and the European Financial Management Association. She coordinates and teaches courses in Managerial Finance, Personal Finance, and Corporate Finance. In recognition of her exceptional teaching, she received the Dean’s Teaching Award for Excellence in 2019. Additionally, she was appointed as an Associate Editor for the Global Finance Journal, a recognized “A” ranked journal. She is actively engaged in various academic conferences, continuously contributing to the advancement of her fields of research through presentations and publications.
