Lamia Chourou holds Ph.D. in Accounting from Queen's University (2014) and Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Tunis (2008). Her research focuses on capital markets, particularly corporate disclosure and financial reporting quality, as well as analysts’ forecasts. She has published in several referred journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, the Journal of Business Ethics, the International Review of Financial Analysis, and the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences. Currently, her research is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), aiming to investigate the incentives and obligations of commercial banks in identifying financial misrepresentation by clients and exploring the role of individual bankers in institutional relationships that arise from suspicions of fraud. Additionally, Professor Chourou has previously served as a Teaching Fellow at Queen's School of Business, where she taught intermediate financial accounting and several related courses overseas. She is a recipient of prestigious awards and scholarships from the Government of Ontario, Queen's University, and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.
