Biography

Lan Deng is a professor at Taubman College specializing in Urban Regional Planning. His research interests lie broadly in the areas of housing, real estate, and local public finance, with a particular focus on the United States and China. Deng serves as the North American Editor for Housing Studies, one of the leading international journals in housing research, and has held positions such as Associate Director of the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies. He holds a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Peking University.
