Biography

Dr. Lin joined the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University in 2011. He received M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in structural engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa. His Ph.D. thesis was nominated for the Governor General’s Gold Medal for outstanding Ph.D. theses in Sciences at the University of Ottawa. His research fields include structural earthquake engineering, focusing on the improvement of seismic design performance for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure systems. Dr. Lin has published about 40 technical publications and has extensive practical experience in the design of buildings and bridges. He has received several prestigious awards, including the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Visiting Researcher Fellowship at Stanford University. Notably, he was awarded the 2013-2014 President's Excellence in Teaching Award (New Faculty).
