Biography

Lana Wylie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at McMaster University. Her research primarily focuses on Canadian-American foreign policy and the politics of Latin America and the Caribbean, with a specific emphasis on Cuba. Wylie has critically examined the comparative perspectives of Canadian and American policies towards Cuba, as illustrated in her book 'Perceptions of Cuba: Canadian American Policies in Comparative Perspective', published by the University of Toronto Press in 2010. She has also been involved in co-editing volumes on Canadian foreign policy and has contributed to various scholarly works in the areas of comparative politics and international relations. Wylie holds a PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was part of the Center for International Relations, as well as a Master’s degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from McMaster University. Additionally, she completed her postgraduate training as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institution for Social Policy Studies at Yale University, New Haven.
