Biography

Lance Rappaport earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in Montreal, Quebec and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. His research employs diverse methodologies to elucidate the socioemotional mechanisms underlying the etiology and development of anxiety and mood disorders from childhood to adulthood. His current work leverages ecological momentary assessment, laboratory-based assessment, longitudinal and genetic epidemiology, and novel statistical approaches to examine distinct mechanisms of development, assessment, and treatment of internalizing psychopathology in children, adolescents, and adults. Rappaport has published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience, and the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
