Langis Michaud graduated from the École d’optométrie at Université de Montréal in 1986 and obtained a Master’s Degree in physiological optics in 1998. He completed a third cycle diploma in public health at École Nationale d’Administration Publique in 2006. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 1989 and became a Cornea Contact Lens Diplomate in 1994. In 2010, he became a Fellow of the Scleral Contact Lens Organization and in 2013, a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. He has been a full professor at Université de Montréal since 2001, serving as the chief of the contact lens department and treating anterior segment diseases. Dr. Michaud has been involved in numerous clinical studies for pharmaceutical contact lens companies and has acted as a visiting professor at Université de Paris-Sud in France for over ten years. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and authored over 35 book chapters. His research interests include ocular manifestations related to Fabry disease and the design and optimization of scleral contact lenses. He regularly speaks at conferences in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. and is the current president of the College of Optometrists of Quebec.
