Biography

Lara Best is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at Dalhousie University. She is well-regarded for her contributions in medical education and her expertise in the management of skin cancer and other tumor types including head and neck as well as central nervous system tumors. Dr. Best has a medical degree from Queen's University, completed her residency and obtained her FRCPC from Western University, and furthered her education with an MEd from Acadia University. She has also achieved FRANZCR certification in Australia. Throughout her career, she has held significant administrative roles including her work with the Independent Data Safety Monitoring Committee for TROG. Dr. Best is known for her commitment to education, indicated by her repeated recognition as Teacher of the Year in her department, and she has contributed to several impactful publications in radiation oncology.
