Biography

Larena Hoeber serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Regina. She has a distinguished academic background with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Science in Sport Management also from the University of Saskatchewan, and a PhD in Sport Management from the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on women's roles and involvement in sport and recreation, gender relations within sport, and contemporary qualitative research methods. She explores organizational culture and how it impacts the experiences of individuals in sports. In recognition of her contributions, she has received several awards including the NASSM Research Fellow in 2016 and the Garth Paton Service Award in 2020 for her outstanding service to the North American Society for Sport Management. Hoeber is actively involved in editorial boards for prominent journals such as the European Sport Management Quarterly, Leisure / Loisir, and the Journal of Sport Management, and she serves as an associate editor for the Sport Management Review. She continues to contribute to the academic field of sport management through her scholarship, research, and leadership.
