Dr. Larissa Truschel

Biography

Larissa Truschel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University, specializing in pediatric emergency medicine. She has a strong research interest in child health advocacy, health equity, and medical education, focusing on improving health outcomes for children. Dr. Truschel has co-founded the Duke Pediatrics Health Equity Advocacy Leadership Track, which aims to enhance training for pediatrics trainees in health equity advocacy. Her academic work is centered on health equity and social justice, actively engaging with community organizations both nationally and internationally. She has worked on issues such as social screening, health outcome disparities, and interventions targeting child poverty. Her professional activities also include strategic planning for equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
