Dr. Larry Browning

Biography

Larry Browning is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he has made significant contributions to the study of narratives and organizational communication. His research focuses on complexity in organizations, the role of narratives in shaping organizational culture, and the impact of information-communication technologies on cooperation and competition among organizations. In his recent work, he emphasizes narrative theory and its application in understanding complex organizational structures, particularly in the context of whistleblowing and cultural examination in the High North of Norway. Browning has also edited and contributed to several books published by Routledge, including works on whistleblowing, organizational narratology, and the intersection of culture and development in petroleum sectors.
