Professor Dr. Larry Davidson

Biography

Larry Davidson is an Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on processes of recovery for individuals suffering from serious mental illnesses and addictions, involving the development and evaluation of innovative policies and programs. He employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, engaging patients and stakeholders actively in his research. His work has highlighted key elements in the recovery processes for individuals with psychosis and demonstrated effective community-based interventions. Davidson has contributed significantly to the Mental Health Consumer Movement and has been instrumental in public policy efforts aimed at promoting recovery-oriented systems of care at local, state, and federal levels. He is an advocate for peer support models and culturally responsive services, working to broaden access to care and improve patient outcomes. Davidson has been involved in numerous funded research projects and has a strong publication record in the field of psychiatry and mental health.
