Biography

Larry Lynd is a pharmacist, epidemiologist, and health outcomes researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He has completed his PhD in the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at UBC and a post-doctoral fellowship in health economics at McMaster University. His research focuses on the integration of epidemiologic and health economic analyses to inform practice, policy, and research in health outcomes. He works primarily with large administrative health datasets and investigates various areas such as treatment for rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, and respiratory disease. Dr. Lynd leads significant studies, including the Canadian PROactive Cohort study for People Living with Multiple Sclerosis and the GenCOUNSEL study, which evaluates the implementation of whole genome sequencing in clinical genetic services. He has served on numerous committees, including as chair for Health Canada’s Special Advisory Committee on Non-Prescription Drugs and has made notable contributions to health policy and research on the access and evaluation of orphan drugs and innovative health treatments.
