Biography

Larry G. Redekopp is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California. He obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1969, and has since focused his research on theoretical fluid mechanics, nonlinear wave stability, and geophysical fluid dynamics. Over the years, Redekopp has received numerous awards for his teaching and service, including the USC Mellon Mentoring Award in 2012 and the USC School of Engineering Service Award in 1998. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American Physical Society and has also been honored with the Gledden Fellowship for Senior Visiting Scientists at the University of Western Australia. His contributions to the field of mechanical engineering and education have had a lasting impact on his students and the academic community.
