Biography

Lars Bjerrum is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specifically in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He has broad clinical experience from many years of work in general practice and has served as a coordinator for the European antibiotic project, HAPPY AUDIT. He is a member of the National Antibiotic Council and part of the editorial group for the Danish Pharmaceutical Catalog, promedicin.dk. As the main editor of the Almen Medicin textbook published by Munksgaard in 2014, he has authored 130 scientific publications, three professional books, and 15 book chapters. Additionally, he has led over 200 continuing education courses for practicing physicians, junior doctors, and practice staff. His roles have included medical coordinator for DSAM's clinical guidelines from 2000 to 2007 and leadership positions in research training and specialty education in general medicine in Region South during the 1990s and 2000s. His primary research interests are in the diagnostics and treatment of infectious diseases in general practice, point-of-care testing, pharmacoepidemiology, and the consumption and development of antibiotic resistance in infectious diseases.
