Biography

Lars Peter Hansen is the David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, holding appointments in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics and the Booth School of Business. He is also the Director of the Macro Finance Research Program. His research interests include time series econometrics, quantitative analysis, dynamic equilibrium models, and asset pricing. A notable contributor to the field, Hansen was awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel in 2013, shared with Eugene Fama and Robert Shiller, recognizing his groundbreaking work in understanding economic behavior in risky and changing environments. His fellowships and memberships include the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
