Biography

Lars Kloo is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in the Department of Chemistry. He received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Lund University in 1990 and has since held positions as a post-doctoral fellow and visiting scientist at prestigious institutions such as Liverpool University, Cornell University, and Auckland University. His academic journey has included becoming a Docent at Lund University in 1994. Kloo’s primary research interests lie in new media inorganic synthesis, focusing on electrochemically active electrolytes for solar cells based on ionic liquids and hybrid systems. He specializes in both experimental and theoretical characterization of inorganic, organometallic, bioinorganic materials, and the study of solid-solid and solid-liquid interfaces. Additionally, Kloo has published more than 250 research review articles in refereed scientific journals with over 15,000 citations. He has extensive teaching experience in physical and inorganic materials chemistry and pedagogics, and is actively involved in research supervision at KTH.
