Dr. Lars Lindemann

Biography

Lars Lindemann is an Adjunct Research Assistant Professor in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California. He conducted his PhD studies in Electrical Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His research interests encompass systems and control theory, formal methods, and autonomous systems. Throughout his academic career, he has held positions including Assistant Professor from 2020 to 2022 and postdoctoral researcher from 2016 to 2020. He has received various accolades for his work, including the Student Paper Award at the 2021 Conference on Decision and Control and the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the 2019 Conference on Decision and Control. His recent research focuses on bridging the fields of control theory, machine learning, and formal methods to design scalable, data-driven intelligent systems, particularly in the context of autonomous technologies. Lindemann aims to develop new theoretical frameworks and computational approaches to enhance safety and decision-making in complex AI-enabled systems.
