Biography

Lasha Abzianidze is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, affiliated with the Institute of Language Sciences. His research primarily focuses on formal computational semantics and the application of machine learning in reasoning and natural language. Abzianidze completed his doctoral degree at Tilburg University in 2017, where his PhD thesis concentrated on combining Automated Theorem Proving with Natural Logic to solve Natural Language Inference problems. Prior to his current position, he was a postdoctoral researcher on the ROCKY project at Utrecht University from 2016 to 2020 and served as a lecturer at the University of Groningen. He holds double master's degrees from the European Master's program in Language and Communication Technologies, studying at Charles University in Prague and Nancy 2 University, now known as the University of Lorraine. Additionally, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from Tbilisi State University.
