Biography

Lasse Skjoldager Eskildsen is a PhD student at the University of Southern Denmark within the Department of Political Science. His doctoral project is titled 'Democracy Terrorism – Civil Rights Affect Terrorism?', which examines how democratic institutions and political rights influence the emergence of political violence. Eskildsen’s research focuses particularly on political violence, terrorism, the processes of radicalization, various regime types, and the interplay between civil liberties and human rights in conjunction with state security measures. He is also involved in teaching, specifically in the courses Nation State Transformation and Method 2 (Quantitative Statistics). Eskildsen holds a Master of Science in Political Science, which he obtained in 2019, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the same institution in 2017. His involvement in conference activities includes participation in Danish/Baltic public choice workshops and a working group on counterterrorism intelligence.
