Biography

Lasse Schmidt received his M.Sc. degree in engineering (mechatronics) from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2008. He became an industrial Ph.D. fellow associated with Aalborg University (AAU-Energy) in 2010 and received his Ph.D. degree in robust control of hydraulic cylinder drives in 2014. Following his doctoral studies, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at AAU Energy and concurrently at Bosch Rexroth AG. Lasse then progressed to the role of Assistant Professor at AAU Energy and is currently an Associate Professor, heading research activities related to electro-hydraulic drive network technology. He is a main author or co-author of 70 scientific peer-reviewed publications, focusing on hydraulic drive systems and control. His current research interests include the design and control of electro-hydraulic drive networks and their integration into mobile working machines in industrial systems, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at ensuring prosperity while protecting the planet.
