Biography

Laura Barre is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University, where she emphasizes the importance of nutrition in healthcare and disease management. She received her B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University in 1991 and completed her dietetic internship at Emory University in 1992. Barre later obtained an M.D. from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 2001. Her clinical career focuses on providing nutritional care in oncology and geriatric populations, and she has developed significant research interests in areas such as aging, technology in nutrition, eating behaviors, and health care decision-making among older adults. Barre's work includes studies on sarcopenia and obesity, the impact of social influences on eating behaviors, and technology's role in promoting healthy aging.
