Biography

Laura Brunton is an Assistant Professor in the School of Physical Therapy at Western University. She holds a Master of Science and a Master of Physical Therapy from Western University, as well as a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Brock University. Dr. Brunton specializes in health rehabilitation sciences, focusing on the physical rehabilitation of youth with disabilities. Her research interests include the evaluation of physiological risk factors in adolescents with cerebral palsy, anxiety, and depression. She is involved with the CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research and the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with Disabilities. Dr. Brunton has also received several awards, including the Rising Star Distinction from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Lillian Pollard Award. Her goal is to improve transitional care models for children and adolescents with physical disabilities as they age into adulthood.
