Biography

Pianist Laura Dahl is an active international performer and educator, having appeared at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, and San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall, as well as festivals like the Stern Grove Festival and the Carmel Bach Festival. As a specialist in collaborative performance and chamber music, she is the founder and artistic director of the Drs. Ben Jess Shenson Recital Series at Stanford University. Dahl teaches collaborative solo piano, chamber music, and art song interpretation at Stanford, and has previously taught in Tokyo as part of the New National Theatre Young Artists Training Program. With a background in Germany, she has studied under notable musicians and has been recognized as a German Chancellor’s Scholar by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She holds degrees from the University of Michigan School of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. Her professional experience includes roles as Assistant Conductor with the Western Opera Theater and Associate Director at the San Francisco Boys Chorus, alongside coaching positions at various conservatories and opera theaters.
