The Hale Lab employs cellular and molecular biology techniques to understand the triggers of intestinal inflammation and the pathogenesis of inflammation-associated neoplasia. Dr. Hale is dedicated to developing novel therapies for IBD treatment, investigating mechanisms that determine the immunogenicity of oral antigens, and creating novel adjuvants for oral vaccines. Her work is relevant to the pathogenesis and treatment of infectious diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract.
